INTRODUCTION

1.1     BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

 Job design plays a vital role in performance maximization. A well-designed job brings involvement and satisfaction to the employees and they perform well by employing energies in work. Job design remains a vital issue among the researchers for its importance and effectiveness. According to psychology, perception and attitude of employees motivate workers towards task performance and such employee becomes highly productive and loyal to the organization.

Literally explained, to design means to create function, executive or construct according to plan or design specifics the content and the nature of an employee is condition to work activities and many conditions within which the work is carried out. This job design is the central feature of the contract work including supervision and integration between the different job holders in the organization. Job design tells the employee the activities of what they have to perform relative to other jobs. Surely, the need for manpower requirement in organization must be carefully analyzed in terms of quality and quantity of personnel needed as well as their incumbents and those to be later hired would have a clear and defined picture of what work they are expected to do, when it has to be done and why.

It’s relationship with other jobs. The extent to which an organization success in achieving its set goals and objective therefore depends largely on the productivity of its employees and how well the employees’ job are designed.

Job design describes what people should do in their jobs and most essentially, the skills, knowledge, educational competence, aptitude and attitude that must fit their position in the organization.

Human resource managers should ensure that jobs are designed with regards to the ability and limitations of the employees in order to achieve job satisfaction on the part of the employees.

It is necessary for job to be meaningful to the individual concerned. Managers should design job in such a way what workers will be highly motivated to do their jobs which will eventually lead to high productivity for the organization.

This is because without information concerning the entire relationship and interchangeability of job, it will be impossible to make satisfactory transfer and promotions of employees in an organization. The most profitable beginning in the development of more effective method of work is study of the method currently employed on the job.

All organized effects are made and undertaking to achieve enterprise objective in general. The objective is to increase productivity through job performance advancements which depend largely on finding better ways, creativity innovative collaboration, openness, enhancements and outlining the services that an organization could provide in accordance. It is in fact the responsibility of management to provide the environment and stimulants to keep this process vita for without increase in the intellectual ability of students.

1.2     STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The basis for the research is at finding the requirements or the organizational option of operational efficiency, quality and productivity of employees. The present study to examine ways to improve the quality of work-life by increasing the sense of satisfaction employees derives from doing their job.

1.3     OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The general objective of the study is to explore whether there is a relationship between job design, employee motivation and job performance among employees.

There specific objectives include;

  1. To identify ways job design can improve the quality of work-life in a organization.
  2. To determine how job design techniques can satisfy the requirements of an organization operational efficiency, quality and productivity of employees in an organization.
  3. To satisfy the need of individual employee for interest challenges and accomplishment.
  4. To determine the impact of specific job design techniques on employees performance.
