Design and Implementation of a Hospital Management System

A full hospital management system covering patient records, appointments, billing, and pharmacy for Nigerian hospitals.

About this project

This project builds a multi-module hospital management system (HMS) that digitises patient registration, appointment scheduling, electronic medical records, pharmacy stock, billing, and reporting. It targets small and medium-sized Nigerian hospitals that still rely on paper records, reducing patient wait time and improving record accuracy.

Suggested tech stack

  • PHP / Laravel
  • MySQL
  • Bootstrap
  • jQuery

Chapter 2

Literature Review: theoretical framework, review of related works on hospital management systems, gaps in existing studies, and a summary positioning this project.

Chapter 3

Methodology / System Analysis and Design: PHP/Laravel or Django + MySQL, OOAD with UML diagrams, prototyping methodology. Includes data collection method, system requirements, use-case and architecture diagrams (or population, sample size, and instrument).

Chapter 4

Implementation and Results: a deployed web application with doctor, nurse, pharmacist, and admin roles. Presentation of findings, testing, evaluation, and discussion of results.

Chapter 5
