Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background to the Study

Investigates the antibacterial activity of aqueous and ethanolic Moringa oleifera leaf extracts on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella typhi using agar-well diffusion.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

In-vitro study of the antibacterial activity of Moringa leaf extract against common pathogens. Existing approaches remain limited in reach, accuracy and ease of use, which creates the gap this study addresses.

1.3 Aim and Objectives

The aim of this study is to antibacterial activity of moringa oleifera leaf extract on selected pathogenic bacteria. The specific objectives are to:

  1. review existing literature and systems related to the study;
  2. collect and analyse data using Laboratory experiment;
  3. evaluate the results against the stated problem;
  4. make recommendations for practice and further research.

1.4 Scope of the Study

Introduction: background to antibacterial plant extracts, statement of the problem (rising antibiotic resistance to common bacterial pathogens in Nigeria), aim and objectives, research questions, scope, significance of the study, and definition of terms.

Chapter Two: Literature Review

Literature Review: theoretical framework, review of related works on antibacterial plant extracts, gaps in existing studies, and a summary positioning this project. Literature Review: theoretical framework, review of related works on antibacterial plant extracts, gaps in existing studies, and a summary positioning this project.
